Maya is the primary source that keeps the creation glued to it- it is the shakti of Lord Vishnu. The body is bound by the attraction of earth which is bound by attraction of sun and the sun by another star system.
Let me share with you the famous story … A lady from Dehradun who was visited by Maya. Coming from a modest background she was desirous for more wealth. There are certain nights in a year where the becomes an easier way of communication at the doorways following certain energy patterns. It was that Diwali night and a powerful one where the lady had an interaction with Goddess Laxmi in her dreams. She was told by the Goddess that she will be showered with blessing and all her desires will be fulfilled. The Goddess continued, ‘I will take your son in exchange’. The lady was horrified and denied of any wealth in exchange of her son. The Goddess left.
MAYA & SHAKTI
Later there was a sudden rise in wealth and prosperity in the lady’s family and they became joyous. Meanwhile, one day the son went out and met with an accident and died on spot. The lady grieved like hell. Getting stuck by Maya the lady refused to give away her acquired wealth. This is the attraction of Maya. During the night of Diwali , the shakti of Maya is at its peak- the darkest and most powerful night of the year yearning you toward light. From Mooladhar to agya the journey from darkness to light takes place, people light diya in front of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Laxmi who are believed to being riding on their ‘vahana’s’ during this Diwali night.
Intrincate Diwali Cards, delicious food, family gathering, decoration , shopping or crafting makes the celebration loud and colourful. How can you forget then deep fried Poori, Kheer and Ladoo.
The intricate Rangoli pattern to welcome Goddess Laxmi. The positive energy revolves all round you giving the essence of prosperity.Everytime we seek to know the stuff and want the ground under our feet where we rely on the outside world to cater all our needs. The outside world is scientific and inner world is a fairy tale- thats’ what we believe. It is a human behaviour to lean out rather than lean in.
DEEP INSIGHT OF YOURSELF
I agree that my outside focus has always created a sense of distraction and discontent. Sometime the insatiable five senses has also made me lose my gut or intuition. Believe me – I keep questioning myself “Where is my gut or inner feeling or knowingness? Do I really know about the inner world that is within me? “
Has it ever happened that all rational and high functional people like me ever cared about what lies within. The skills need to be developed. Remember the Light is there within you and can grow there with abundance and intensity. So light yourself so alive, so large and vibrant that you can actually realize your growth.
Wow! Lights of self-confidence, honesty, care, realization breaking away from the darkness of “EGO”; this is a sort if Diwali within yourself. Let us become a candle that is uused to light the diyas rather than a single lonely diya sitting in a corner waiting for someone to come and lighten it.
You want good fortune – let not be intellectual or sentimental or religious. Simply keep buzzing alive to venture an invitation of happiness.
Are you convinced now?
To give your life a purpose what better could you ask this Diwali than draw a perfect circle for yourself. This is my mantra to live a peaceful life – Enlighten your inner self with virtues of righteousness and then see how colorful ‘Life ‘ turns out to be.
This Diwali I have honored my path with this mantra and thus would love to share with you such inward an adventure.
