DISCOVER THE CODES WITH THE HIDDEN GENIUS PROJECTS WITH GOOGLE.ORG

Whether it is fashion, music or art coding has always been the key factor to think about all the industries and influencing human minds. With CS becoming an integral part of a broader segment, the Hispanic, Blacks and female youths are unveiling its benefit.

According to a research conducted with Gallup,   students are more inclined to take up computer science with five times more interest. The major reason to lack of representation is perception – so one need to have a visually clear approach to get anything done in the best way possible.

 

It was on 27th October 2017, that Google.org announced $1million to be granted to The Hidden Genius Project, organized by CA-based group to ensure the increase in number of black representatives in tech. A brilliant benchmark set up by The Hidden Genius Project, to mentor the Black male youth in technology creation along with leadership and entrepreneurial skills leveraging the perception of computer scientists and inspiring the generation next.

The funds incurred from here will help the organization to grow in many new cities and expand their work to inspire young people to pursue their careers merging the tech and their passion together.

The Hidden Genius Project were the winners of Google Impact Challenge in 2015 and with an initial $5000,000 grant they reached almost 1700 Bay Area students with their 15 months entrepreneurship   programs. They took a step ahead with the events and workshops to provide the young black men with a bigger platform to mentor the basic computer programming and many more   careers in tech.

The Hidden Genius Project was presented the grant in the Tech Slam event to expose the kids to many other activities combining computer science and their passion from music to fashion and sports.  Googles’ CS First, The Hidden Genius Project and Team. Inc helped almost 200 students to complete the sports coding projects from Oakland.

With the usage of 3D rendering software they designed a pair of kicks having the front row seats for interviews with NBA players and interactive sessions with Levis Jacquard Jacket- even the students got a chance to hear from the entrepreneurs, Two Golden State Warriors and tech passionate persons Andre Iguodala and JaVale Macee and   the Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson form California. The focus was on how technology can help enhance the skills atheletes to become better players and how important coding is for every student to understand and implement.

$35 million in Google.org was granted to provide a productive opportunity for the underrepresented students to become the stalwarts or   pioneers in the tech world. It is a huge excitement for the whole world to wait and watch how The Hidden Genius Project brings a revolutionary change for the underrepresented students to pursue a career in tech.  It is true that not all students will take this opportunity but the skills they learn from here will help them serve well regards of what job sparks on their passion.
